Enable or disable certain functions in your email settings. These emails are not meant for guests, but for the restaurant owner. Would you like to receive emails when a reservation is made? Read along to see how:

Send email when a reservation is made

Would you like to receive an email whenever a reservation is made?

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘E-mail settings’, enable the top slider to receive emails whenever a new reservation is made.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Send email when a reservation has been cancelled

Would you like to receive an email whenever a reservation is cancelled?

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘E-mail settings’, enable the middle slider to receive emails whenever a reservation is cancelled.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Send email when a review is placed

Would you like to receive an email whenever a review is placed?

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘E-mail settings’, enable the bottom slider to receive emails whenever a new review is placed.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Whenever the system is updated, Lurch will send restaurant owners an e-mail to inform them of the bug fixes or new features.

Send both SMS and emails to customer

Keep your customers up to date through email and text message? Set it up here:

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘SMS settings’, enable the top slider to send both emails as text messages. Attention: Costs per SMS: €0,12, excl. VAT.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Show SMS option in the reservation form

Let customers receive their reservation confirmation via text message as well. Follow these steps:

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘SMS settings’, enable the second slider to show the SMS option in the reservation form. Attention: Costs per SMS: €0,12, excl. VAT.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Send review SMS

Would you like to automatically send a review request through SMS after guests visited your restaurant? 

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘SMS settings’, enable the slider ‘Send review SMS’ to send review requests through text message. Attention: Costs per SMS: €0,12, excl. VAT.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Send a reminder SMS

A reminder email is automatically sent to all guests 4 hours before their reservation is due. Would you like to also send guests a text message?

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘SMS settings’, enable the slider ‘Send reminder SMS’ to send guests a reminder of their reservation. Attention: Costs per SMS: €0,12, excl. VAT.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Set or adjust SMS name

When sending text messages to guests, you will need to create a SMS name so they will know who sent the message. Set this name here:

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘SMS settings’, fill in your custom SMS name. Keep in mind that the name cannot be longer than 11 characters!
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Set a personalised text message

When a guest indicates, on the reservation form, that they would like to be notified through SMS, they will receive a message at different stages leading up to the reservation. This setting will give you the option to create a custom text message to confirm the reservation. Leave this field empty to make use of the default text message by Lurch. Create the message here:

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘SMS settings’, create your custom SMS text. After finishing this message, don’t forget to enable the slider under the text field. Your personal message will now be used.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Set a personalised E-mail message

Would you like to create a custom text that will be sent to guests after placing a reservation? Follow these steps:

Step 1: In your menu go to 'Reservations’ > ‘Settings' > ‘SMS & Mail’.
Step 2: In the field under ‘E-mail settings’, create your custom E-mail text. After finishing this message, don’t forget to enable the slider under the text field. Your personal message will now be used.
Step 3: Don’t forget to save the changes at the bottom of the page.

Extra help with Custom Mail Messages

Personalise your messages by using additions in them. Additions are placeholders which will be changed into the correct information depending on the guest. 
How to use one of these additions: move your cursor to the desired destination and click on the addition icon:

Email and SMS

Available additions for reservation notices:

  • Date show the reservation date in the message.
  • Guests shows the number of guests for the reservation.
  • Link shows a unique link to the guests reservation page.
  • Name shows the name of the guest.
  • Note shows the customer note if the guest has filled one out.
  • Restaurant shows the name of your restaurant. This is useful when you own multiple restaurants.
  • Space shows the area in which the guest is seated.
  • Table shows the table on which he guest is seated.
  • Time shows the reservation time.
